“We will never back down,” DeMaurice Smith tweeted early Saturday morning. “We no longer can afford to stick to sports.”

The players’ representative also took issue with the fact NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to condemn President Trump’s attack on Kaepernick’s civil rights.

“Whether or not Roger and the owners will speak for themselves about their views on player rights and their commitment to play safety remains to be seen,” Smith noted. “This union, however, will never back down when it comes to protecting the constitutional rights of our players as citizens as well as their safety as men who compete in a game that exposes them to great risks.”

There has been speculation that neither team owners nor Commissioner Goodell will defend player rights.

Molon labe (Greek: μολὼν λαβέ molṑn labé), meaning "come and take [them]", is a classical expression of defiance. According to Plutarch, Xerxes I, king of the Achaemenid Empire, demanded that the Spartans surrender their weapons and King Leonidas I responded with this phrase.

Viewership decreasing.

Revenue decreasing.

Disgust in players increasing.

We'll see how this Pet Rock phase goes on.  ESPN has already laid off workers over lack of viewership.  NFL tickets are decreasing - $15.00 - cheaper than parking your car.

After yesterday's stunt - just wait and pay attention - which I know you won't.  I'm surprised you know the Steelers are a National Football League team and not thieves.

I am going to guess that you can't find any NFL ticket for less than $60, not even in Cleveland, Indianapolis, San Francisco or for the Jets (worst teams in the league)

What does a Giants ticket or Redskins ticket cost, chief?

Hey chief:

peak of the local rush hour, which is nightmarish even under normal conditions.

A San Francisco Chronicle columnist on Wednesday found tickets as low as $14 — about the price of a premium beer (or two pretzels!) at the stadium — but a MarketWatch search of eBay Inc.’s EBAY, -0.82%   Stubhub found that $16 appeared to be the lowest price available, though dozens of tickets were available for under $20.

So it wouldn’t be hard to buy a pair of tickets for less than the cost of stadium parking — $40. Those tickets are going for a fraction of their official face value of $85 to $95 — and that’s not including the $2,000 cost of a personal seat license those season-ticket holders had to buy.

The entire Pittsburgh Steelers team hid like cowards in the locker room Sunday during the playing of the National Anthem.

All except for one!

Alejandro Villanueva of the Pittsburgh Steelers chose to honor his flag during the opening of his game Sunday evening. Villanueva was the lone Steeler on the field – hand over heart – as the anthem played. The former Army Ranger served three tours in Afghanistan  and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor.

As a result!

In a rousing show of support, Villanueva’s jersey instantly shot to the top of jersey sales on Sunday evening, as of 10 p.m Eastern time.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin expressed his desire to have all his players remain in the locker room during the anthem. Villanueva was the only one to disobey the directive.

The Steelers - a team whose fans get upset at people who disrespect the "terrible towels" - watch what happens.

You've never been to a professional sporting event - have ya?

Tickets that day can be had for less than cost of parking.

Guarantee attendance will be down from last year which was roughly 78,000

I have been to every baseball stadium on the east coast, to every major college football stadium in PA, probably 100 Philly games, 250 Pirate games (at Forbes Field, Three Rivers and PNC). I had Penn State football tickets for 10 years

To every minor league stadium in Florida. To the Boston Garden, Fenway, Boston college football stadium, Shea Stadium...

Lancaster, Harrisburg and Reading baseball fields..

I knew you knew nothing about NFL.

Colleges do not have professional sporting events - pretty sure you know that.

At those "professional" baseball games you attended, ever notice the people outside selling tickets?  Ever ask 'em how much?  Not talking about major headers, just your run of the mill games.

NFL tickets in the near future will be pennies on the dollar.

Are you drunk?

Penn State tickets can go for $500 easily in a year like this. Last minute tickets are always going to be low priced, but that's not even always true. We once traded 5 Flers tickets for 2, but scalper wanted $200 / ticket

No, are you high?

Penn State is NOT a professional team, perhaps you want to check that.

"but that's not even always true. "  I said that isn't always true.  HOWEVER:  It will be more prevalent at upcoming NFL games.

Please stop confusing NFL with college and NBA, NHL and NBL.

ESPN has already laid off workers over lack of viewership.

ESPN's lack of viewership problems go back to 2012. People are "cutting the cord" and ESPN has lost 10% of their total viewership since then. It's not because someone wants to take a knee or not stand.

When I became convinced that the Universe is natural -- that all the ghosts and gods are myths, there entered into my brain, the sense, the feeling, the joy of freedom. I was free -- free to think, to express my thoughts -- free to live to my own ideal -- free to live for myself and those I loved -- free to use all my faculties, all my senses -- free to reject all ignorant and cruel creeds, all the "inspired" books that savages have produced -- free from popes and priests -- free from the fear of eternal pain -- free from devils, ghosts and gods. I was free. ~Robert G. Ingersoll - 1896

Recent "events" with their staff has hindered them more.
